A beautiful day…a beautiful lake…Maine: Open for Business (though I still don’t understand why that’s the first thing you read when you cross the state line). Taken in Bridgeton at a lake this family has come to for too many years to list.
A few photographs from a “Day of Life” session that reveal a little personality. An insightful “look” while leaning against the cabinet talking to Mommy; “the stance” in front of an easel covered with “H’s” which are a favorite letter to draw, and sitting on a stool eating a cookie and then leaning on the counter – the sense of scale (little person on tall stool) & the mood – ever serene.
There’s something about these that feel rich – even sublime – even the ones where Abe is looking right at me. Annie was really into a non-posed candid portrait concept so the few I was able to get of her that were semi-posed were gorgeous. I love the sunlight on her hair and the dreamy far away look in her eyes. And then there’s Abe who’s expression and presence define all this is little boy full of goodness and a little mischief.
When Rachael’s Mom told me she really wanted photographs of her jumping, I had no idea what kind of “air” we were talking about. At a glance, Rachael can appear delicate, but her strength and agility are mind blowing and the backdrop of tall pine trees helps show how high she gets. Her presence feels sweetly lyrical and the collage pretty much sums up her essence.
