i felt these were real and spirited and free. honest. open. candid. slightly studied. while i had more than my share of favorites from the day, i think because of how these unfolded so naturally, they are perhaps those that represent things the best.

for anyone who’s ever been to the shore…you’ll know what this is. the shore is what those of us in PA and NJ refer to the jersey shoreline – ie the shore. for me, it is the place of childhood vacations – happy memories of rides and the boardwalk, of good food and junk food and of taffy and fudge – though to be honest, i’m not a taffy person. but the nostalgia of this place – that it’s still there! – merited these on a day trip.

i know there are a few of you who will enjoy this!

for the record, i’m not a lobster freak. while i enjoy it, it’s just not something i need to have let alone crave. but i can say it’s so nice to be treated to it about once a year by my inlaws. yes, about once a year usually when family visits. and this year was sorta special as we (husband/i) hadn’t seen this family in four years. these are a few taken on the york river in maine.

{little disclaimer, there are a few that do show the lobster, the pot and what happens then so if you’re not into that, i suggest you close out / move on}

ok; anyone who’s ever been to ocean city new jersey more than likely knows this name. it’s a boardwalk tradition & hands down some of the very best pizza i’ve ever eaten. and as a pizza nazi, take it from me, it’s something really special. i actually sat one time years ago at the counter during a day trip with my nieces & my mom and watched the pizza guys make pie after pie. i learned a few techniques and tips from the study. so this time, at the counter, i decided to photograph them – and happy to say, they put on a bit of a show. though some things changed {name is no longer mack & manco as ‘mack’ retired}….the boys in white and the pizza is still deliciously the same!

a few from the end of the day in maine with a little one i haven’t seen in four years who was a bit ramy after being stuck inside all day while it rained. so refreshing to see the youthful bliss of jumping in puddles.

ok i confess, i’m not yet in the know on ‘praise the squirrel’ but as i will have this info tomorrow during a day with two beautiful souls, i thought they’d enjoy this as a prelude to that. so these were taken at the philadelphia art museum outside in the fairmont park outside the side entrance as i wanted to see an outdoor exhibit by sol lewitt.
